What is a sacred birth worker doula and what is my role?
 

To me, being a sacred birth worker means I am someone who believe in the sacredness and power of conception, pregnancy and birth. Someone who knows it's a rite of passage and a powerful transformation for the woman, if the woman receives the right support.

My 1 year training as a sacred birth worker with Sacred Birth International is very in depth, compared to an average weekend-long doula course. To me, this craft is about way more than understanding the physiology of childbirth. Number one is holding a safe space for the mother and her partner. My background is a bachelor's degree within health and fitness in 2015. But none of my education replaces life-experience and embodied wisdom, which is what has guided me on this path.

I am here to make you feel empowered, safe and supported emotionally, in your conception journey, pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. With years of experience with working with and holding space for women, and being a mother of two myself, I am full of wisdom and knowledge to guide you, and with huge passion and heart for my craft. Most importantly, I am a very calm, grounded, intuitive and warm support person. Someone that you can feel safe having by your side in this transformative, powerful, and sometimes a bit scary and overwhelming experience.

 

The support looks differently depending on your unique needs and wishes. Together we discover and unravel how I can best be there for you and your partner in the process of conception, pregnancy and childbirth.

Doula Support

As your childbirth doula, I will be here for you to strengthen your intuition and support you to come into contact with your own inner voice, to discover what your dream birth scenario looks like, and then prepare for that.

 

Even if childbirth is about surrendering, letting go and letting the unknown unfold, preparation is key. I will be by your side in your conscious conception journey, pregnancy, labour and through the postpartum phase. A very important factor for a positive experience is support. Support from your birthing team. A team which I would feel honoured to be part of. There is something called "the doula effect". Studies show that families who hire a doula have a more positive birthing experience, which in turn strengthens the bond to the baby and makes postpartum a more joyful experience. Mothers who give birth with a doula by their side are also less likely to experience complications in childbirth. And they are more likely to have a natural birthing process without medical intervention, because the physiology have a better chance of being protected.
